LOCAL MISSIONS
GALVESTON URBAN MINISTRIES
Galveston Urban Ministries is a faith-based organization that empowers the poor and marginalized of Galveston through community development and support services. They seek to engage relationships with people from all walks of life to share God’s love and blessings while offering opportunities for them to serve. They also offer programs that encourage growth spiritually, motionally, and physically. GUM provides resources and teaching to low-income families on how to overcome poverty. These resources include reading, computer skills, how to write a resume and interview for a job. Last year, Tiki Island Chapel hosted an afternoon tea party with all proceeds going directly to GUM to support these programs. The Chapel participated in collecting school supplies in August for their School Supply Store. We also provide financial support throughout the year. YOUTH REACH HOUSTON
Youth Reach Houston is a group residential operation for juvenile males. Youth Reach Houston seeks to provide a fresh chance to troubled kids by introducing them to Jesus, giving them a quality education, and teaching them valuable life skills. Youth-Reach creates a stable and healthy environment where residents can learn, grow, and thrive. Tiki Island Chapel provides financial support on a monthly basis and has given special offerings from events such as Vacation Bible School.

UNBOUND NOW HOUSTON
Unbound Now supports survivors and resources our community to fight human trafficking in three primary ways: prevention and awareness, professional training, and survivor advocacy. https://www.unboundhouston.org.
RECOVERY CHICK/JUDY’S HOUSE
Recovery Chick is a Christian-based recovery community and 501c3 non-profit. They are a breed of broken people who are in the process of being transformed. They are applying recovery principles to every area of life, recovering from anything that is keeping them from living a God-given purpose and destiny.

SALVATION ARMY
Tiki Island Chapel participates in the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree event at Christmas. This past Christmas, we provided gifts for 50 needy children in the Galveston area.

RESOURCE AND CRISIS CENTER OF GALVESTON COUNTY
The mission of the Resource and Crisis Center of Galveston County is to promote the safety, well-being, and best interest of victims of family violence, sexual assault, and child abuse and to advocate for the prevention of such crimes. The Resource and Crisis Center provides safety to victims of family and sexual violence and assists with legal protection along with basic needs through resale donations to provide for the overall well-being of the clients. Members of Tiki Island Chapel donate women and children’s clothing, baby items, bedding, and other home goods to the shelter on a regular basis. At Thanksgiving, members have cooked turkeys for the women, children, and staff at the shelter. Tiki Island Chapel also provides financial support throughout the year.

AFRICA NEW LIFE MINISTRIES
Africa New Life Ministries exists to communicate the message of Jesus Christ in word and deed, to Africa and all the nations. The goal of ANLM is to see lives transformed through meeting basic needs, to give hope for the future for those living in poverty in Rwanda, and to share the freedom and hope found in Christ. This is accomplished by providing access to education, leadership training, and healthcare; through church planting and Christian discipleship; and through holistic care for vulnerable children, and women and men in need.
