OUR PASTOR

Jason Seifert grew up in the Heights area of Houston, but his family has strong roots in Galveston County.  His Grandfather was “BOI” (Born On the Island), and growing up, Jason’s family made frequent trips to Galveston “to go fishing and get sunburns.”

Jason is a graduate of Houston Baptist University, where he studied theology and music.  He has been in full time ministry for over 25 years, serving in various ministry roles in Houston-area churches.

Jason and his wife, Laura, have been partners in ministry since they began dating.  Laura is a gifted communicator and the founder of Yes. Ministries, a discipleship ministry for women (yesministries.net).

The Seiferts have been residents of Friendswood since 2003, and the friendships they have forged there are a big reason for their connection with Tiki Island.  “So many people from Friendswood have moved to Tiki, or spend their weekends there, that it has become affectionately known as ‘Tikiwood.’ “

Jason will be serving as a bi-vocational pastor, splitting time between Tiki and his other new role as a church partnership representative with Africa New Life (africanewlife.org), a ministry organization based in Rwanda.

The Seiferts and their kids (Ben, 16, and Beth, 14) are so excited about the opportunity to be a part of the Tiki Island Chapel family, and they look forward to meeting you!
